Rams Close Regular Season with Victory Over Purchase on Senior Day

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team closed out the regular season this afternoon with a 9-0 Skyline Conference victory over Purchase. The Rams are currently riding a school record 13-match winning streak and will enter the playoffs as the #1 seed.

Prior to the match, seniors Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.), Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) were each honored for Senior Day.

The Rams (14-1, 7-0) cruised through doubles competition as Reidy and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded an 8-4 win in the #1 slot. The pairing of sophomore Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Ferguson (second doubles) and sophomores Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (North Amityville, N.Y.) (third doubles) each earned 8-0 shutout victories.

FSC won all six singles matches in straight sets: Reidy (6-3, 6-2), Lettieri (6-2, 6-1), Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-0), Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) and Marino (6-0, 6-0).

The Rams next will host the Skyline Conference Semifinals on Thursday, October 24th. Farmingdale State has secured home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
