FSC Cruises Past Sarah Lawrence; Improves to 6-0 in Skyline

Farmingdale State - 9, Sarah Lawrence - 0


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The FSC women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 conference win over Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday evening. Farmingdale State improved to 13-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play.

The Rams lost just one game in doubles competition as senior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 win in the #1 position, while the second and third pairings of sophomore's Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) and sophomore's Rosa Lettieri (Merrick, N.Y.) and Shari Jackson (North Amityville, N.Y.) both picked up 8-0 shutout victories.

In singles play, Reidy won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles before Lettieri notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the #2 position. Tzanetos earned a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win in the third spot to improve to 11-1 in singles this season and senior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) earned her seventh win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the #4 spot. Freshmen Danielle Aresta (Malverne, N.Y.) and Mia Murrell (Shirley, N.Y.) each earned 6-1, 6-2 victories in the fifth and sixth positions, respectively, to close out the 9-0 win.

FSC next hosts Skyline Conference opponent Purchase on Friday, October 18th at 3:00 p.m. on Senior Day.
