Women's Tennis Earns 10th Straight Victory with Win at MSMC

Farmingdale State - 8, Mount Saint Mary - 1


Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team won their 10th straight match with an 8-1 Skyline Conference victory over Mount Saint Mary College this afternoon. The Rams now stand at 11-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in conference play, while the Knights dropped to 4-5, 2-3.

In doubles, senior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) captured first singles, 8-7, as they won the tiebreaker, 7-3. In the second slot, sophomore's Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) picked up an 8-1 win before sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) earned an 8-0 shutout victory in the third position to give Farmingdale State a 3-0 lead heading into singles competition.

After Reidy was edged out by MSMC senior Michelle Carnovale (Massapequa, N.Y.), 6-3, 6-1, at #1 singles, the Rams cruised in the second through sixth positions as Lettieri (6-0, 6-1), Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), Tzanetos (6-2, 6-1), Ferguson (6-0, 6-3) and senior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (7-5, 6-1) all earned wins for FSC.

The Rams next host Skyline opponent Manhattanville on Saturday, October 12th at noon.
