FSC Women's Tennis Improves to 9-1 with Win at SJC-LI

Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team improved to 9-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Skyline Conference with an 8-1 win at St. Joseph's-Long Island this afternoon.

Farmingdale State picked up all three points in doubles competition as the pairing of senior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded an 8-3 victory in the #1 position. At second doubles, sophomore's Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) recorded an 8-1 win before sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) tallied an 8-3 victory in the third slot.

In singles play, Reidy defeated senior Amanda Post (Miller Place, N.Y.), 6-2, 6-2, in the first spot, while Lettieri earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over senior Nora Burnett (Amityville, N.Y.) at second singles. Hoffman (6-0, 6-1), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-0) and Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) cruised to victories in the third through fifth slots as FSC captured five-of-six singles matches to cap off the 8-1 win.

Farmingdale State next will host Purchase College in a conference match on Wednesday, October 2nd at 4:30 p.m.
