Flushing, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team squared off against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center and earned a 9-0 victory. The Rams have won six straight matches and improved to 7-1 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
Farmingdale State cruised in doubles competition as the pairing of senior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded an 8-2 victory in the #1 position. At second doubles, sophomore's Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 win, while sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) tallied an 8-0 shutout victory in the #3 slot.
The Rams won each of their singles matches in straight sets. Reidy (6-3, 6-2), Lettieri (6-0, 6-1), Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-1), Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) and senior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) all earned wins for FSC.
Farmingdale State next will host Hunter College in a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 25th at 4:30 p.m.
