Farmingdale State Records 9-0 Non-Conference Win at Staten Island

Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to The College of Staten Island for a non-conference match this afternoon and earned a 9-0 shutout victory. The Rams improved to 6-1 on the year and have won five straight matches.

In doubles play, FSC senior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded a 6-0 win in the #1 slot, while the pairing of sophomore's Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) also notched a 6-0 victory in the second position. Rounding out the sweep at third doubles, freshmen Mia Murell (Shirley, N.Y.) and Danielle Aresta (Malverne, N.Y.) won 6-2 for the Rams.

Farmingdale State cruised in singles competition as Reidy (6-0, 6-0), sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-1), Hoffman (6-0, 6-0), junior Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), sophomore Shari Jackson (North Amityville, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) and Aresta (6-0, 6-0) all earned victories in the first through sixth positions, respectively.

The FSC women's tennis team next will square off against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in their first Skyline match of the season at the USTA Center in Queens, N.Y. on Tuesday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m.
