Rams Defeat Lehman; Earn Third Straight Win

Farmingdale State - 6, Lehman - 3


Bronx, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to the Bronx, N.Y. for a non-conference match at Lehman on Monday afternoon and earned a 6-3 victory. The Rams have now won three straight matches and improved to 4-1 on the year.

FSC claimed 2-of-3 points in doubles competition as the sophomore pairing of Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) registered an 8-0 win in the second position. At #3 doubles, junior Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) and freshman Mia Murell (Shirley, N.Y.) picked up an 8-3 win. The Lightning (4-1) captured first doubles, 8-7, as they won the tiebreaker 7-5.

Farmingdale State fell at #1 and #6 singles but tallied victories in the remaining four spots to earn the 6-3 win. Freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-1), Ferguson (6-0, 6-1) and Jackson (6-0, 6-4) each notched wins in the second through fifth positions, respectively.

The Rams next open their Skyline Conference schedule when they travel to play Yeshiva University on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:00 p.m.
