Farmingdale State - 6, Plattsburgh State - 3
Plattsburgh, N.Y. - The FSC women's tennis team traveled to Plattsburgh State today and opened the 2019 season with a 6-3 non-conference victory.
In doubles competition, the Rams (1-0) recorded 2-of-3 points. In the #2 position, the pairing of sophomore's Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) and Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 win, while freshman Anastasia Hoffman (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and senior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) notched an 8-6 victory in the third slot.
In singles play, sophomore Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), Hoffman (6-2, 6-0), Tzanetos (7-5, 6-1) and Ferguson (6-4, 7-5) all recorded wins for the Rams.
Farmingdale State returns to action tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. with a non-conference road match at Castleton State.
