FSC Defeats Baruch in First Spring Match

Farmingdale State - 8, Baruch - 1


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team opened their spring schedule with an 8-1 win over Baruch College yesterday afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y.

The Rams (11-5) won all three of the doubles matches as the pairing of junior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) earned an 8-2 victory in the #1 position. At second doubles, freshmen Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 win, while FSC's Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) rounded out the sweep with an 8-3 win in the third position.

In singles play, Riedy (6-3, 4-6, 10-1), Lettieri (6-3, 6-3), Zollinger (6-0, 6-1), Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) and sophomore Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) all picked up victories for Farmingdale State.

The FSC women's tennis team next will play host to Berkeley-NY on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00 p.m.
