Rams Defeat St. Joe's-Brooklyn in Skyline Opener

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday morning in their Skyline opener and won, 8-1.

The Rams (7-2, 1-0 Skyline) swept all three doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Junior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) won 8-3 in the #1 position, while the second pairing of freshmen Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) and third pairing of senior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and sophomore Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) both earned 8-0 victories.

In singles play, Lettieri (6-2, 6-0), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-1), Zollinger (6-2, 6-1), Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) and junior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-2) won in the second through sixth positions.

The Bears earned their only point at first singles as senior Denise Trerotola (Brooklyn, N.Y.) defeated Reidy, 7-5, 6-1.

FSC next hosts Mount Saint Mary for a conference match on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
