FSC Women's Tennis Improves to 5-1 with Win Over Brooklyn

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent Brooklyn College on Monday evening and won, 7-2, to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Rams took two-of-three doubles matches as the pairings of freshmen Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) and senior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and sophomore Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) earned 8-0 shutouts in the #2 and #3 positions, respectively.  

In singles competition, freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-3), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-0), Zollinger (6-0, 6-2), Ferguson (6-4, 6-1) and junior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) recorded victories in the second through sixth positions.

Brooklyn (2-1) freshman Rosa Aksanov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) went 2-0 on the day as she won at both the first doubles and singles slot.

FSC next travels to play both SUNY Delhi and SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, September 22nd. The Rams will first play host school Oneonta at 10:00 a.m. and follow with a match against Delhi at 3:00 p.m.
