Farmingdale State - 5, Lehman - 4
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team edged Lehman College, 5-4, this afternoon in a non-conference match in Farmingdale, N.Y.
In doubles play, FSC's (4-1) one point came in the #2 position as the pairing of freshmen Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 win over Lehman (0-4) sophomores Celine Figueroa (Bronx, N.Y.) and Alana Bierman (New Rochelle, N.Y.).
The Rams captured 4-of-6 singles matches as they edged the Lightning, 5-4. Freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) (6-2, 6-2), Tzanetos (6-2, 6-1), Ferguson (6-4, 6-2) and junior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-4, 6-3) all won at singles for FSC.
The Farmingdale State women's tennis team next will play host to Brooklyn College on Monday, September 17th at 4:30 p.m.
