FSC Women's Tennis Wins 8-0 Over John Jay

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent John Jay this afternoon and recorded an 8-0 victory. With the win, the Rams improved to 2-1, while the Bloodhounds dropped to 1-1 on the season.

In doubles play, the pairing of junior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded an 8-5 victory in the #1 position. At second and third doubles, Farmingdale State notched wins of 8-0 and 8-3, respectively.

In singles, Lettieri (6-3, 6-2), freshman Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) (6-3, 6-0), senior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) (7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-4)), freshman Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-1) and junior Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (6-4, 6-0) all carded wins for the Rams. The #1 singles match between Reidy and John Jay freshman Mariana Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.), was unfinished due to rain.

Farmingdale State next travels to play a non-conference match at Western Connecticut State on Friday, September 14th at 3:30 p.m.
