Wayne, N.J. - In a non-conference women's tennis match last night, Farmingdale State traveled to William Paterson and earned a 9-0 shutout victory. With the win, the Rams improved to 1-1, while the Pioneers fell to 0-1.
In doubles competition, FSC's Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded an 8-1 win in the first position, while the pairing of Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) and Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) won, 8-0, in the #2 slot. At third doubles, Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) rounded out the sweep with an 8-2 victory.
In singles, Reidy (6-0, 6-0), Lettieri (6-2, 6-2), Tzanetos (6-2, 6-0), Zollinger (6-2, 6-4), Ferguson (6-0, 6-0) and Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) all won in straight sets for Farmingdale State.
The Rams next will host John Jay in a non-conference match on Saturday, September 8th at 1:00 p.m.
