SUNY Plattsburgh - 8, Farmingdale State - 1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent SUNY Plattsburgh in their season opener this afternoon and fell, 8-1.

The Cardinals (1-0) claimed all three doubles points after posting scores of 8-6 in both the first and second positions as well as carding an 8-4 win in the #3 slot.

In singles, FSC (0-1) earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the #3 position as freshman Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) defeated SUNY Plattsburgh's Sarah Hoeffner (Montgomery, N.Y.).

Farmingdale State next will travel to William Paterson for a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 5th at 5:00 p.m.
