FSC Defeats William Paterson, 7-2, on Senior Day

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In their final match of the season, the Farmingdale State women's tennis team earned a 7-2 non-conference victory over William Paterson on Monday evening. Prior to the match, Olivia Stauffer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) were both honored for senior day. With the win, FSC ends their season at 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the Skyline, while the Pioneers drop to 0-10.

The Rams took an early 2-1 advantage as they were able to capture two out of three doubles matches. Sophomore Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and Stauffer won at #1 doubles, 8-2, while junior Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and La Monica secured #2 doubles, 8-3.

In singles competition, Reidy (6-2, 6-1) and Stauffer (6-0, 6-3) won at #1 and #2 singles, respectively. At third singles, Zollinger posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win and at fourth and fifth singles La Monica and sophomore Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) both won, 6-4, 6-1, as FSC earned the non-conference victory, 7-2.
