Flushing, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team traveled to the USTA Center on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference match against John Jay and fell, 7-2. The Rams now stand at 6-8, while the Bloodhounds improved to 7-3 with the win.
John Jay recorded victories in each of the three doubles matches to start the day.
In singles, the Rams carded a win in the #4 position after sophomore Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) defeated freshman Gabrielle Schuck (East Northport, N.Y.), 6-4, 4-6, 10-6. Farmingdale State's final point came in the sixth slot as freshman Jazmin Gracida (Queens, N.Y.) carded a 6-2, 7-5 win over freshman Clara Aylin Wilhelm (Nuremberg, Germany).
The Rams next will host William Paterson for senior day on Monday, October 16th at 5:00 p.m.
