FSC Falls to Conference Foe Mount Saint Mary

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team fell, 6-3, in a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday evening against Mount Saint Mary College. The Rams are now 4-7 on the year and 1-3 in the conference.

The Knights (5-4, 2-2) were able to capture all three doubles matches to take the early 3-0 advantage. Mount Saint Mary seniors Dorothy Tighe (Walden, N.Y.) and Charlotte Pascual (Freeport, N.Y.) earned a tie-breaking #2 doubles victory, 9-8 (7-5), over Farmingdale State juniors Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.).

In singles competition, Rams senior Olivia Stauffer (Greenlawn, N.Y.), Zollinger and sophomore Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) won at the #2, #3 and #5 spots, respectively.

MSMC sophomore Michelle Carnovale (Massapequa, N.Y.), freshman Victoria Clay (Saint James, N.Y.) and sophomore Miyanna Vernon (Liberty, N.Y.) each took their respective singles matches as the Knights were victorious over FSC, 6-3.

The Rams next host Sarah Lawrence College for a conference match on Saturday, October 7th at noon.
