St. Joseph's-LI - 5, Farmingdale State - 4
Patchogue, N.Y. - In a Skyline Conference women's tennis match at St. Joseph's-LI on Wednesday afternoon, Farmingdale State fell, 5-4. The Rams now stand at 3-6 overall and 0-2 in conference action, while the Golden Eagles improved to 4-4, 1-1.
St. Joe's-LI claimed 2-of-3 points in doubles with the FSC pairing of juniors Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) earning an 8-6 victory in the #2 position.
At first singles, sophomore Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) carded a 6-1, 6-4 win, while La Monica cruised 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth slot. Farmingdale State's final point of the match came at sixth singles with freshman Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
The FSC women's tennis team next will square off against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in a Skyline match at the USTA Center on Saturday, September 30th at noon.
