Rams Drop Conference Opener to Yeshiva

Flushing, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team lost an 8-1 conference match to Yeshiva University on Thursday evening. The Rams now stand at 0-3 overall, 0-1 in Skyline play, while the Maccabees improved to 2-0 overall (2-0 Skyline).

In doubles competition, Shani Hava (Petach Tikva, Israel) and Rebecca Parker (Teaneck, N.J.) of Yeshiva earned an 8-6 victory over Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and Olivia Stauffer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) in the first position. In second doubles, Farmingdale State's Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) defeated Rachel Slater (Solon, Ohio) and Andrea Weiss (Miami, Fla.), 8-6, while Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Cameren Jackson (Copiague, N.Y.) fell 8-4 in third doubles.

The Maccabees swept the six singles matches en route to the 8-1 conference victory.

FSC next hosts non-conference opponent William Paterson on Tuesday, September 12th at 5:00 p.m.
