Brooklyn, N.Y. - In a non-conference women's tennis match on Tuesday afternoon, Farmingdale State fell, 5-4, at Brooklyn College. The Bulldogs improved to 1-0 on the season, while the Rams dropped to 0-2.
Farmingdale State captured 2-of-3 doubles matches. In the second position, the pair of Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) and Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) earned an 8-6 win over Georgeen Belrose (Babanneau, St. Lucia) and Shannel Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.), while Kai Yusuf (Bronx, N.Y.) and Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) carded an 8-1 victory at third doubles.
In singles play, Zollinger (7-6, 6-2) and La Monica (7-6 (7-4), 6-0) earned the only points for FSC in the third and fourth slots respectively, as the Rams fell, 5-4.
Farmingdale State next will open Skyline Conference play against Yeshiva (@ Queens College) on Thursday, September 7th at 8:00 p.m.
