Boston, Mass. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team opened the season with a road match at UMass-Boston and fell, 9-0.
FSC (0-1) fell 8-4 in both the first and second doubles matches and were defeated, 8-0, in the #3 position.
In singles, the Beacons (1-0) captured all six matches to round out the 9-0 sweep. In the first to sixth positions: Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) (0-6, 2-6), Olivia Stauffer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) (2-6, 6-2, 6-10), Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) (6-4, 3-6, 7-10), Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) (3-6, 4-6), Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) (2-6, 0-6) and Cameren Jackson (Copaigue, N.Y.) (2-6, 2-6) were all defeated.
Farmingdale State next will travel to Brooklyn College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 5th at 4:30 p.m.
