Farmingdale State - 8, Staten Island - 1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated Staten Island today, 8-1, in their first spring match. The Rams improved to 15-4 overall, while the Dolphins fell to 7-10.

Farmingdale State held a 2-1 advantage after 8-0 wins at both 1st and 2nd doubles. The teams agreed to play 10-point pro sets for the singles matches, before the Rams swept all six en route to the non-conference win.

After claiming the conference's automatic bid this fall, the Rams will now head to the NCAA Division III Championships. The NCAA will announce the tournament pairings with an ncaa.com press release on May 8th.
