Seniors Lead Rams against St. Joe's

Farmingdale State - 6, St. Joseph's-L.I. - 3


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team improved to 6-3 overall, 2-1 in Skyline play with a 6-3 conference victory over St. Joseph's-L.I. (4-2, 2-1) on Wednesday afternoon.

In doubles action, the Rams fell in the #3 match, but rebounded with wins at 1st and 2nd doubles. Senior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior Qurat-ul-ain Rai (Lahore, Pakistan) won in the 1st spot, 8-6, before senior Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) and senior Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won the second point for Farmingdale State with an 8-4 win.

Freshman Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) put FSC up 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at 5th singles, while Signore increased the lead to 4-1 with a 6-1, 6-2 win at 1st singles. St. Joe's made it 4-3 with wins at 3rd and 6th singles, before Rosamilia and Fredericks posted wins at 2nd and 4th singles, respectively.

Farmingdale State will next host Oneonta State on Thursday, September 22 for a non-conference match at 5:00 p.m.
