Farmingdale State - 6, John Jay - 3

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State women's tennis improved to 4-3 overall with a non-conference victory over John Jay College (1-1) on Friday night.

The Rams held a 2-1 advantage after the doubles competitions, before posting wins at 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th singles to stroll to a 6-3 win.

In doubles play, senior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior Qurat-ul-ain Rai (Lahore, Pakistan) took the 8-3 win and Savannah Haworth (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and freshman Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) won easily 8-1. Rai, freshman Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.), Celine Zollinger () and sophomore Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) all cruised to singles wins.

Farmingdale State will now travel to face Purchase College on Saturday, September 17th in a conference match at 11:00 a.m.
