Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team improved to 3-2 overall with a 9-0 victory over non-conference opponent Hunter College on Saturday afternoon. The Rams will now open conference opponent Yeshiva University on Sunday, September 11 at Noon.
Farmingdale State jumped out to a 3-0 lead with an 8-4 win at #1 doubles by senior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior Qurat-ul-ain Rai (Lahore, Pakistan). At #2 doubles, senior Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) and sophomore Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) posted an 8-0 shutout. In the #3 doubles match, sophomore Savannah Haworth (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and freshman Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) won 8-3.
In singles play, the Rams swept all six matches for the 9-0 shutout win.
