Rams Capture Third Straight Women's Tennis Championship

#1 Farmingdale State - 5, #3 St. Joseph's-LI - 1


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The top-seeded Farmingdale State women's tennis team earned a 5-1 victory over #3 St. Joseph's-LI this afternoon to capture their third straight Skyline Conference women's tennis title. The Rams have earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship in May.

The Rams (13-2) won two-of-three doubles matches as junior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore Qurat-ul-ain Rai (Lahore, Pakistan) tallied a 8-0 win in the #1 position. At second doubles, junior's Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) and sophomore Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) fell, 8-3, while the pair of Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Madison Schrader (East Islip, N.Y.) recorded a 9-7 victory in the #3 slot.

In singles, Signore earned a 6-1, 6-1 win in the first position, Rai carded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #4 and Schrader's 6-4, 6-2 win in sixth singles clinched the match.

Signore was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship.
