Rams Headed to Skyline Finals

#1 Farmingdale State - 5, #4 Sarah Lawrence - 0


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The top-seeded Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated #4 seed Sarah Lawrence, 5-0, in today's Skyline Conference Semifinal match. The Rams (12-2) now advance to the Championship game for the fourth straight season, in search of their 3rd straight Conference Title, against the winner of #2 Yeshiva/#3 St. Joseph's (L.I.).

Farmingdale started the match with three wins in doubles play, highlighted by an 8-1 victory at 1st doubles by junior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore Qurat-ul-ain Rai (Lahore, Pakistan). At 2nd singles, juniors Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) and Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won 8-6, while senior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Madison Schrader (East Islip, N.Y) posted a 7-2 win by retirement.

In singles play, the Rams went up 4-0 after an injury to a Sarah Lawrence player recorded a win by walkover in the 5th singles spot. Match point came at 6th singles by Schrader with a 6-1, 6-0 victory to secure her teams' spot in the Championship match this weekend.

The game will be played at Farmingdale State on either Saturday at 1pm (if against St. Joe's) or Sunday at 12pm (if against Yeshiva). Farmingdale State will by searching for their 3rd straight Conference Title.
