2014 Women's Tennis Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's tennis team entered the Skyline Playoffs as the top-seed and posted 5-0 shutout victories over Sage and St. Joseph's to capture their second straight Skyline Conference title. The Rams earned the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships.

The Rams hold a 13-1 record (6-0 Skyline) heading into their spring season and the NCAA Tournament. FSC is also riding a 10-match winning streak.

Farmingdale State had four players named All-Conference this season. Senior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was the Skyline Player of the Year, senior Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) each earned First Team honors and sophomore Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named a Second Team All-Star.

Sickles carded an 11-2 record at #1 singles and a 10-4 mark in first doubles, while Signore was 11-1 at #2 singles and 11-3 at #2 doubles.

Bentz recorded a 13-1 record at third singles, Fredericks was 12-1 at fourth singles and sophomore Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) was a perfect 12-0 playing fifth singles. In the sixth singles position, junior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) had a 10-1 record.

Farmingdale State did not lose a singles match in any of their six conference games.
