Rams Advance to Skyline Women's Tennis Finals

Bethpage, N.Y. - Farmingdale State advances to the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Finals for the third straight season, after posting a 5-0 semifinal victory over The Sage Colleges (7-8) on Thursday night at Sportime Bethpage. The Rams (12-1) will look to win a second consecutive Championship when they host St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Saturday, October 25th at 1:00 p.m.

Farmingdale State posted the first win of the night at 3rd doubles with an 8-2 victory by sophomore Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and junior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.). The next win for the Rams came at 2nd doubles by sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) with an 8-1 win. To secure a 3-0 advantage, seniors Jessica Sickles and Alex Bentz (both of Massapequa Park, N.Y.), defeated the #1 duo from Sage, Kristen Ackerman and Erin Duffy, by a score of 8-6.

In singles play, four matches went unfinished after Bentz and Fredericks secured the Rams' spot in the Finals with wins of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively.
