Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team earned a 9-0 shutout victory over Purchase College in a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday. The Rams improved to 8-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Skyline play.
The Rams cruised in doubles play as senior's Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y) and Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) tallied an 8-1 victory in the #1 position, while sophomore's Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 win in the #2 slot. In third doubles, sophomore Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and junior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) paired for an 8-1 victory.
In singles competition, Sickles (6-0, 6-0), Signore (6-0, 6-0), Bentz (6-1, 6-1), Fredericks (6-1, 6-2), Rosamilia (6-0, 6-1) and Liguori (6-0, 6-0) all recorded wins for Farmingdale State.
The Rams next will host Staten Island in a non-conference match on Friday, October 10th at 4:30 p.m.
