Ramapo Hands Rams First Loss of Season

Mahwah, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team lost a close match, 5-4, at Ramapo on Wednesday. The Rams are now 3-1 on the year, while the Roadrunners improved to 6-1.

Farmingdale State won their #1 doubles match as senior's Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) carded an 8-6 victory over Carly Agrifolio (Fairfield, N.J.) and Vasundhra Gandotra (Bergenfield, N.J.).

In singles, Sickles recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win in the first position, while Bentz registered a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory in the third position. At #5 singles, sophomore Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) defeated Sabrina Koropchak (West Milford, N.J.), 6-2, 6-0.

Gandotra edged sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) with scores of 6-7, 6-4, 7-5 at second singles to clinch the victory for Ramapo.

The Rams next will host Oneonta State in a non-conference match on Saturday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m.
