Farmingdale State - 5, Pratt Institute - 4
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team improved to 15-2 on the season after defeating Pratt Institute, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match.
The Rams earned one point in doubles competition as freshman Diana Selover (Oceanside, N.Y.) paired with junior Amanda Vecchio (Shirley, N.Y.) for an 8-1 victory in the third position.
In singles play, Farmingdale State was led by freshman Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) who earned a 7-5, 6-2 win in the #2 position, while junior Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) carded a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the third position. Sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.), who was playing fourth singles, tallied a 6-0, 6-4 victory and Vecchio (6-2, 6-3) won in the #5 slot.
The Rams next will host Ramapo in a non-conference match on Wednesday, April 30th at 5:00 p.m.
