Farmingdale State - 7, Hunter College - 2
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated Hunter College, 7-2, as they recorded their 11th consecutive victory on April 8th.
The Rams (14-2) earned all three points in the doubles competition. In the first slot, junior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) tallied an 8-6 win over Janani Bavanandan (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Shena Joseph (Bronx, N.Y.). Junior Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) paired together for an 8-2 win at #2 doubles, while sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y) rounded out the sweep with an 8-3 win.
In singles play, Signore earned a 6-2, 6-2 win in the #1 position, Bentz recorded a 6-0, 6-1 victory playing #4 and Liguori tallied a 6-0, 6-0 win at #6.
Farmingdale State next will play host to Pratt in a non-conference match on Saturday, April 19th at 3:00 p.m.
