Farmingdale State - 6, Staten Island - 3
Farmingdale, N.Y. - In their first match since capturing the Skyline Conference Championship in October, the Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated Staten Island 6-3 on April 6th. The Rams now stand at 13-2 on the year, while the Dolphins fell to 15-2.
Farmingdale State earned two points in doubles competition as junior Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded an 8-2 win in the #2 position, while freshman Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) and sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) tallied an 8-2 victory in the third slot.
In first singles, junior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory for the Rams. Bentz (6-1, 6-1), Rosamilia (6-3, 6-0) and Liguori (6-0, 6-1) all added singles points for the Rams.
