Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated Purchase College, 5-1, today in the Skyline Championship to claim their first-ever conference title. The win marked the Rams eighth straight victory, as they improved to 12-2 overall, while the Panthers fell to 8-3.

Farmingdale swept the doubles matches to take the 3-0 advantage. In singles play, freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) gave the Rams a 4-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Purchase won at first singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win by Angela Assal. The win at fifth singles by freshman Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) would secure the fifth and deciding set for the first-ever Championship for Farmingdale State Women's Tennis.

Freshman Priscilla Signore was named the Skyline Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, after posting a 4-0 record in the Conference Playoffs at first doubles and second singles.

The Rams will now compete in the Division III NCAA Championship this upcoming May.
