Farmingdale State - 7, The Sage Colleges - 2
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team won their Skyline Conference opener with a 7-2 victory over The Sage Colleges this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 3-1, 1-0 on the year, while the Gators fell to 3-2, 0-1.
Farmingdale State jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles competition. Freshmen Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) teamed up for a 9-7 win in the second position, while sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Diana Selover (Oceanside, N.Y.) earned an 8-5 win in the #3 slot.
In singles play, freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.), Fredericks, Rosamilia, Liguori and Selover all earned victories.
The Rams next will travel to Hunter for a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 18th at 3:30 p.m.
