- Rams Open 2013 Schedule -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team (1-0) opened the season on Wednesday afternoon and posted a 9-0 victory over non-conference John Jay College (0-1).
The Rams swept the doubles matches 8-0 (1st), 8-4 (2nd) and 8-2 (3rd), then rolled through the singles matches to complete the shutout. Junior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) shutout John Jay's first doubles tandem of Armine Kurkjian and Gabriella Baez, 8-0. In singles play, sophomore Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles.
Farmingdale State will now travel to face York College (N.Y.) on Saturday, September 7th for another non-conference match at 1:00 p.m.
