2011 Women's Tennis Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's tennis team finished the season with an 8-5 record, including 4-2 in the Skyline Conference. The Rams received the No. 3 seed in the playoffs and fell to St. Joseph's in the semifinal round.

Freshman Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) earned Skyline Conference Player of the Year honors, while freshman Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named the conferences Rookie of the Year. Junior Kristina Rossano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was named Second Team All-Skyline.

Sickles posted a 10-3 record and was a perfect 6-0 in conference matches playing #1 singles. At #1 doubles, she paired with Rossano and posted an 8-5 record, including 6-0 in the Skyline. Bentz finished the year with a perfect 13-0 mark at #2 singles and a 10-2 record at second doubles.

Rossano, the Rams #3 singles player, finished the year with an 8-4 overall record, while junior Laura Earlie (Moriches, N.Y.) posted a 10-3 record at fifth singles.

The Rams will be returning their entire team for the upcoming 2012 season.
