Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team shutout NYU-Poly 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in a Skyline Conference match held in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams are now 5-3 overall, 3-3 in conference play, while the Fighting Blue Jays fall to 3-5, 1-4 in the Skyline.

Senior Kate McEntee (Greenwich, Conn./Pomfret) and junior Jessica Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) both posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at 2nd and 3rd singles. Senior Oshea Davis (Hempstead, N.Y./Freeport) defeated NYU-Poly's top player Ariel Zeig by a score of 6-2, 6-1.

Freshman newcomers Regina Cane (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst), Laura Earlie (Moriches, N.Y./William Floyd), and Stephanie Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) rounded out the singles matches at 4th, 5th and 6th spots. Cane won 6-2, 6-3; Earlie won 6-1, 6-1; and Gentile won 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles matches, McEntee and Davis posted an 8-1 victory at 1st doubles. Jessica Gentile and Cane combined for a 8-2 win and freshman Vanessa Josma (Massapequa, N.Y./Amityville) and senior Simonette Clarke (Amityville, N.Y./Amityville) won 8-1 at 3rd doubles.

The Rams host Purchase College on Thursday, October 8th in a Skyline match at 4:00 p.m.
