Rams Break 500 Mark with Win over John Jay

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team improved to 4-3 overall with an 8-1 non-conference win over visiting John Jay College on Wednesday afternoon. The Rams dominated each match with convincing wins by all six players.

In doubles play, Farmingdale took an 8-2 win at first doubles (Oshea Davis / Kate McEntee) and 8-0 wins in both 2nd (Jessica Gentile / Alicia Femoyer) and 3rd doubles (Julie Allegretti / Jessica Dautner) action.

In the singles matches, the Rams went 5-1 with three shutouts. At #2 singles, sophomore Jessica Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) shutout John Jay's Anastasia Williams 10-0. In the third spot, junior Kate McEntee (Greenwich, Conn./Pomfret) blanked Wileska Belhome 10-0 and at #5 singles Alicia Femoyer (East Northport, N.Y./Elwood-John H. Glenn) defeated Jessica Rodriguez 10-0. Sophomore Jessica Dautner (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) picked up a win with a 10-5 match against Cynthia Molina, while Julie Allegretti rounded out the pack at #6 singles, taking a 10-1 victory over Yanira Robinson.

Senior Oshea Davis (Hempstead, N.Y./Freeport) was defeated in a tough fought match by John Jay's Liz Cyran, 10-7.

Farmingdale State will host City Tech on Friday, October 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
