Rams Fall to St. Joseph's
St. Joseph's - 7, Farmingdale State - 2
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's
tennis team (2-1, 1-1) fell to visiting Skyline Conference opponent
St. Joseph's (2-0, 1-0) on Saturday afternoon, September 13th, by a
score of 7-2. The Rams fell behind 1-2 after doubles play, getting
the win from #1 doubles team of senior Oshea Davis (Hempstead,
N.Y./Freeport) and junior Kate McEntee (Greenwich, Conn./Pomfret)
with an 8-6 victory over St. Joe's top doubles team.
In singles competition, Farmingdale State's only victory came from sophomore Jessica Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) with a 6-1, 6-4 win. The Rams #1 singles player, Davis, took St. Joe's Kelly Crawford to three matches, but fell 5-7, 6-3, 10-8.
Farmingdale State now travels to play Lehman College on Sunday, September 14th, before hosting Purchase College on Wednesday, September 17th, for another Skyline match at 4:00 p.m.
