Rams Win Season Opener against Yeshiva

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team opened the 2008 season with a 6-3 victory over Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University (2-1). The Rams went up 2-1 after doubles play, with an 8-4 win from the #1 doubles tandem of junior Kate McEntee (Greenwich, Conn./Pomfret) and senior Oshea Davis (Hempstead, N.Y./Freeport), and an 8-5 win from the #3 doubles team of Julie Allegretti (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) and sophomore Jessica Dautner (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park)

Farmingdale State went on to win 4-of-6 singles matches. Sophomore Jessica Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's) came up with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at #2 singles, McEntee swept 6-0, 6-0 in the #3 spot, freshman Nicole Valentino (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) took a 6-0, 6-1 win at #4, and freshman Alicia Femoyer (East Northport, N.Y./John H. Glenn) won with 6-2, 6-4 sets.

The Rams will host Skyline opponent St. Joseph's on Saturday, September 13th at Noon.
