KINGS POINT, N.Y. | Senior attacker Marina Zumbrunn (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) tied a career-high with four goals Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium for the Farmingdale State College women's lacrosse team, which fell in Skyline Conference play at defending champion U.S. Merchant Marine Academy by a 19-5 count.

Junior midfielder Megan Diamond (Dix Hills, N.Y.) controlled a game-best nine draws at the circle while dishing out two assists for the Rams (3-6, 1-1 Skyline), while senior defender Emily Zeblisky (Northport, N.Y.) caused two turnovers by the host Mariners (6-1, 2-0).

Zumbrunn's first tally of the night came 7:08 into play off a pass from freshman mid Kailee Coppola (Levittown, N.Y.), bringing FSC to within a 2-1 count. USMMA closed the opening period with the next four goals, before tacking on four more markers in the first five minutes of the second frame. Zumbrunn stopped the run with an unassisted goal 5:58 before halftime, before classmate Ashley Codispoti (Patchogue, N.Y.) buried a free-position effort 35 seconds later in a player-up situation.

Zumbrunn completed her hat trick 75 seconds into the second half when she converted a feed from Diamond in a player-up opportunity, before she tied her career-high off another pass from Diamond with 10:17 to go in the contest.

Head coach Erin Calkins's Rams are back in Skyline play Friday night, when they travel to Throggs Neck, N.Y., for a 7 p.m. opening draw against SUNY Maritime College from Reinhart Field.
