Rams Wrap Up Regular-Season with Senior Day Victory

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team closed out the regular-season schedule today with an 18-4 victory over Mount Saint Mary College (6-7, 5-3). Prior to today's game, Rams seniors Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.), Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.), Jennifer Newins (Levittown, N.Y.), Jessica Romero (Brentwood, N.Y.), Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.), Megan Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Mia Johnson (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Krista Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) were each honored for senior day.

Farmingdale State (15-1, 8-0) opened the scoring with four straight goals by the Rams' seniors. Romero scored the first goal, followed by Sullivan and two by Rosino, for a 4-0 lead just six minutes in.

Knights senior attack Katie Gattoni (Old Tappan, N.J.) got MSMC on the board to cut the deficit to 4-1 with a free-position goal at the 20-minute mark. Farmingdale State scored six more goals before the half, to hold a 10-1 lead at the break.

In the second, both Rosino and Johnson traded goals with MSMC's Gattoni and freshman attack Mikaela Rios (Mastic, N.Y.), giving the Rams a 12-3 lead with 19 minutes left to play. Farmingdale State outscored the Knights 6-1 the rest of the way en route to the 18-4 win.

The Rams scored a school record six goals on free-positions today and 14-of-18 goals were scored by seniors. Rosino finished with a team-high seven goals, tying her career-high. Spagnoletta finished with five saves in the win, notching her 32nd career win.

Farmingdale State holds the top-seed for the Skyline Conference Playoffs and have home field advantage. The Rams earned a First Round Bye and will host the Semifinals this Thursday, May 4th at 4:00 p.m. against the #5/#4 seed First Round winner.
