Rams Roll to Conference Win against Purchase

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 10-0 overall, 3-0 in Skyline play with an 18-7 victory over Purchase College (1-6, 0-4) today.

The Rams grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes on goals from senior attack Mia Johnson (Brentwood, N.Y.), senior attack Megan Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.). After a Purchase score made it 3-1, Farmingdale added three more and held an 8-3 advantage at the half.

In the second, the Rams scored seven straight to pull ahead 15-3 with 21 minutes left in regulation. FSC added three more en route to the conference win.

The Rams controlled the draws 17-7. For the day, Keller finished with a team-high six points (4g, 2a), while senior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) finished with a game-high five assists and sophomore midfielder Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, N.Y.) totaled four goals and four draw controls.

For Purchase, junior midfielder Emma Porter (Homer, N.Y.) posted a team-leading five goals and one assist.

Farmingdale State will now travel to face Oneonta State on Tuesday, April 11th for a non-conference game at 4:00 p.m.
