Rams Shutout Mount Saint Vincent; Improve to 9-0

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 9-0 on the season after shutting out Mount Saint Vincent, 18-0, this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams are now 2-0 in Skyline Conference play, while the Dolphins fell to 1-8, 0-3 after today's loss.

Over the first 8:28 of the game, Farmingdale State used goals from senior midfielder Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Alexandra Sparrow (Levittown, N.Y.), freshman midfielder Courtney Gendels (Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior attack Megan Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.) to open up a 4-0 lead.

After FSC extended the advantage to 7-0, the Rams closed the first half with a pair of goals by sophomore attack Jessica Spina (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and one from senior attack Jessica Romero (Brentwood, N.Y.) to take a 10-0 lead into the break.

Farmingdale State added eight goals in the second half as they earned the 18-0 conference victory.

Senior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) tallied a game-high eight points on two goals and six assists, while Spina scored three goals and added a pair of assists. Sparrow finished the afternoon with three goals and Keller totaled three points on two goals and one assist.

FSC sophomore goalkeeper Tori Johnston (Hauppauge, N.Y.) played the first half and stopped five shots, while junior Jessica Meyers (Smithtown, N.Y.) had one save in the second half.

The Rams next will play host to Purchase on Saturday, April 8th at 2:30 p.m.
