Rosino Leads Rams in Win over Kean

Farmingdale State - 14, Kean University - 11


Union, N.J. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team picked up a 14-11 non-conference victory over Kean University on Thursday afternoon. The Rams now stand at 2-0 overall, while Kean drops to 4-1 on the year.

Farmingdale State scored four goals in the first eight minutes to grab a quick 4-0 lead. The early scoring came from senior midfielder Brittany Rosino (North Babylon, N.Y.), senior attack Megan Sullivan (Farmingdale, N.Y.), senior midfielder Kristen Keller (Westbury, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Samantha Morra (Levittown, N.Y.).

The teams traded goals over the next ten minutes, before junior defender Giulia Vitolo (Denville, N.J.) cut the Kean deficit to 6-3 with 11:50 left in the first. FSC closed out the half with two goals for an 8-3 lead at the break.

In the second, the Rams pushed the lead to 11-3 with goals by Sullivan, senior attack Janisha Sanchez (Brentwood, N.Y.) and Keller. Farmingdale State added three more over the final 25 minutes, while Kean tabbed eight more goals, but the Rams held on for the win.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tori Johnston (Hauppauge, N.Y.) made 10 saves for FSC. Rosino finished with four goals and seven draw controls. Sullivan posted a team-high five points (4g, 1a), while Keller scored three goals and picked up a team-high three ground balls.

The Rams will now host Johnson & Wales on Sunday, March 19th in a non-conference game at 1:00 p.m.
