The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track team had a successful season, which included a National Championship appearance, two new school records and two championship performances at the CTC and ECAC Championship meets. Many athletes also moved up on the Farmingdale All-Time Performance lists. Terra Haute, Ind. - Junior captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) competed in the Triple Jump at the Division III National Championships on March 9th and 10 in Terra Haute, Indiana. He placed 12th with a jump of 13.87-meters (45'6"). Reggie is the second Farmingdale athlete to compete in the Nationals since becoming a Division III school. This caps off a tremendous season for Reggie with wins in the CTC and ECAC Championships, along with setting the school record in the Triple Jump with a 47' 5 1/4" performance. Middletown, Conn. - Junior team captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) won the Triple Jump in a school record 14.46-meters (47' 5 1/4") at the ECAC Championships on March 2nd, 2007, held at Wesleyan University. The previous record of 46'8" was set in 1990 by Cory Muse. This mark improved Reggie's previous Division III National Championship qualifying performance and also makes him Farmingdale's first ECAC Indoor Champion. Freshman Chris Herbst (Baiting Hollow, N.Y./Riverhead) placed 6th in the same Triple Jump event, with a personal best jump or 13.54-meters (44' 5 1/4"). The 4x200-meter Relay team of Jason Chin Chitty (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon), Reuben Hairston (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport), Azell Green (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and Kensley Norian (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) placed 5th in a season best 1:32.38. This moves the Relay to number five on Farmingdale's All-Time list. The team tied for 16th place out of 73 entered teams and 53 scoring teams...

Middletown, Conn. - Junior captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) set a new school record today as he became the ECAC Champion in the Triple Jump at the ECAC Championships in Middletown, Conn. Reggie leaped 14.46 meters (47' 5 1/4"), beating out the second place jumper by 2 feet and 3 3/4 inches. Reggie has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the Triple Jump. Manhattan, N.Y. - Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track ran at the NYU Fast Track Invitational on Friday, February 23rd, their last chance to qualify for the ECAC Championships next weekend. The men's and women's indoor track team ran at the Collegiate Track Championships on Saturday and Sunday, February 10-11th. Junior Reggie Routier, senior Akil Williams and freshman Kensley Norian led an outstanding mens team effort in placing third at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships. Reggie won the Triple Jump in 14.13 meter (46' 4 1/4"). This betters Reggie's previous National Provisional Qualifying mark. Reggie also placed second in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.10 seconds. Williams won the High Jump with a leap of 2.01 meters (6'7"). This is a national provisional qualifying mark, a personal best and also moves Akil to 5th on the All-time Farmingdale performance list. Middletown, Conn. - The men's and women's indoor track team traveled to Wesleyan University on Saturday, January 27th for the Wesleyan Invitational, where junior team captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) had a career day in winning the Triple Jump with a 14.06-meter (46' 1 1/2") performance. The Farmingdale State men's and women's Indoor Track team competed at the NYC Gotham Cup, hosted by NYU, at the New Balance Track & Field Center in Manhattan, NY on Friday, January 12th. Freshman Kurt Johns-Harris (Stonybrook, NY/Ward Melville) and junior Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) set personal bests and increased their ECAC qualifying performances in the Triple Jump. Kurt jumped 13.77m (45' 2 1/4") and Reggie 13.71m (44' 11 1/2"). Kurt and Reggie are now 9th and 10th on the All-Time Triple Jump list. Senior Akil Williams (Jamaica, NY/August Martin) won the High Jump with a jump of 6'4" to qualify for the ECAC Championships on March 2-3 at Wesleyan University. Junior captain Reggie Routier (Freeport, NY/Freeport) placed 3rd in the Triple Jump with an outstanding jump of 13.62m (44"8 1/4"), which betters his previous ECAC qualifying jump.
