Baker Selected as SUNY Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year

ALBANY | The 2023 spring State University of New York Scholar-Athlete Award winners were recently announced, and Farmingdale State College men's tennis senior standout Mark Baker (Baldwin, N.Y.) was selected as his sport's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 

Baker was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year for the third time this spring, First Team All-Conference for the fourth time and the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Championship for the second occasion. He posted school records of 14 singles victories and 15 doubles victories on the campaign -- all in top-flight competition. Baker won his last 14 singles decisions and 15 doubles decisions of the season, and finished the slate as the program's record holder in total singles wins (45), singles win/loss percentage (45-3, .938), doubles wins (46) and doubles win/loss percentage (46-5, .902), and won all his singles matches in Skyline play during his career. The Baldwin native majored in economics, and earned a spot on the Dean's List five times at FSC.
